A brief introduction to StoneBridge

A brief introduction to StoneBridge

We want to take this moment to introduce ourselves and to give you more information about us. Whether you’re here because you got a postcard in the mail, a friend invited you, or you were just browsing for churches in the area, we’re glad you’re here.

We think life is stressful enough, so church shouldn’t be. We want StoneBridge to be a safe place for people to explore faith in community – NO PERFECT PEOPLE ALLOWED. It’s a place to be yourself, grow spiritually, build friendships, and make a difference in our city and beyond. Everyone is welcome here, whatever your story, your questions, doubts or struggles. We don’t pretend to have all the answers, but we believe in a God who does.

When you visit StoneBridge you can expect:

Casual Dress. Wear your favorite jeans and t-shirt or your new suit or dress. It doesn’t matter to us, just be yourself!

Practical Teaching from the Bible

Great Music

Fun and Interactive Children’s Program (5th Grade and under)

We encourage you to dig deeper and ask questions. We think you’ll like what you find.

During a typical service at StoneBridge, the band and singers will open with music that will get your heart pounding. After a brief moment to welcome you and fill you in on whats going on, we will continue with worship in preparing your heart for the message. During the message, we use message slides to help you follow along and fill in the notes in the worship guide. Following the message, the band will return for a couple songs that tie it all together.

Most people consider our music to be relevant to today’s society. Whether it’s an upbeat praise song or a meaningful hymn, we strategically choose music with a message. If you don’t know the music, or if you don’t feel like singing, that’s okay. God’s desire, though, is that we worship Him with everything that is within us. The Bible says, “Let everything that has breath praise the Lord.” We hope you’ll join us and see first hand.

Whatever you are most comfortable in. On most Sundays, you will find the worship team and regular attendees of StoneBridge wearing casual clothes. We’re concerned with the inside, not the outside.

So, come see what we’re all about. We have a seat waiting for you and we know you will enjoy it!

We meet every Sunday at 9am and 10:30am and there is always an excellent kids environment available!

The next generation is important to us.

The next generation is important to us.

We have a children’s experience that places a high value on safety, care, and purposeful fun! Our volunteers have designed a relevant encounter around biblical curriculum to challenge and inspire kids. Our team is dedicated to making your experience the best it can be for your whole family.

KidsBridge is designed for kids ages newborn thru 5th grade.

We use 252 Basics, an innovative curriculum that utilizes a mixture of multimedia and activities to help our kids discover truths about God in ways that are appealing and understandable to them. Our goal every single week is to simply teach your child about God in a way that is so much fun, they will be dragging you to church with them!

We want you to know that your child’s safety is important to us. To help ensure safety, we have two security components in place: a check in system with parent security tag and volunteers who go through training and background checks.

To make your Sunday a little easier, here is a list of how the classes break down by age and grade.

PEBBLES // Newborn up to 2 years old

STONES // 3 years – Pre-K

BOULDERS // Kindergarten – 2nd grade

MOUNTAINS // 3rd – 5th grade

Our Beliefs

Our Beliefs

We’re not just a Sunday church. We’re a church 24/7/365. We believe in doing life together, laughing together, crying together, praying together, and striving together to grow closer to God.

We exist to share God’s love with the people of Morgantown and the world in such a way that they have the best opportunity to become fully developing followers of Jesus Christ.

God is the Creator and Ruler of the universe. He has eternally existed in three persons: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. These three are co-equal and are one God.
Genesis 1:1, 26-27, 3:22; Psalm 90:2, Matthew 28:19; 1 Peter 1:2; 2 Corinthians 13:14

Jesus Christ is the Son of God. He is co-equal with the Father. Jesus lived a sinless human life and offered Himself as the perfect sacrifice for the sins of all people by dying on a cross. He arose from the dead after three days to demonstrate His power over death, sin, and the grave. He ascended to Heaven’s glory and will return again someday to earth to reign as King of Kings and Lord of Lords.
Matthew 1:22-23; Isaiah 9:6; John 1:1-5; 14:10-30; Hebrews 4:14-15; 1 Corinthians 15:3-4; Romans 1:3-4; Acts 1:9-11; 1 Timothy 6:14-15; Titus 2:13

The Holy Spirit is co-equal with the Father and the Son of God. He is present in the world to make men aware of their need of Jesus Christ. He also lives in every Christian from the moment of salvation. He provides the Christian with power for living, understanding of spiritual truth, and guidance in doing what is right. As Christians, we seek to live under His control daily.
2 Corinthians 3:17; John 16:7-13, 14:-16-17; Acts 1:8; 1 Corinthians 2:12, 3:16; Ephesians 1:13-14; Galatians 5:25; Ephesians 5:18

The Bible is God’s Word to us. It was written by human authors, under the supernatural guidance of the Holy Spirit. It is the supreme source of truth for Christian beliefs and living. Because it is inspired by God, it is the truth without any mixture of error.
2 Timothy 3:16; 2 Peter 1:20-21; 2 Timothy 1:13; Psalm 12:6, 119:105, 160; Proverbs 30:5

People are made in the spiritual image of God, to be like Him in character. People are the supreme object of God’s creation. Although every person has tremendous potential for good, all of us are marred by an attitude of disobedience toward God called “sin”. This attitude separates people from God and causes many problems in life.
Genesis 1:27; Psalm 8:3-6; Isaiah 53:6a; Romans 3:10, 23; Isaiah 59:1-2

Salvation is God’s free gift to us but we must accept it. We can never make up for our sin by self-improvement of good works. Only by trusting in Jesus Christ as God’s offer of forgiveness can anyone be saved from sin’s penalty. When we turn from our self-ruled life and turn to Jesus in faith we are saved. Eternal life begins the moment one receives Jesus Christ into his life by faith.
Romans 6:23; Epheisans 2:8-9; John 1:12, 14:6; Titus 3:5, John 5:24

Because God gives us eternal life through Jesus Christ, the true believer is secure in that salvation for eternity. If you have been genuinely saved, you cannot “lose” it. Salvation is maintained by the grace and power of God, not by the self-effort of the Christian. It is the grace and keeping power of God that gives us this security.
John 10:29; 2 Timothy 1:12; Hebrews 7:25, 10:10-14; 1 Peter 1:3-5; Romans 11:29

People are created to exist forever. We will either exist eternally separated from God by sin, or eternally with God through forgiveness and salvation. To be eternally separated from God is Hell. To be eternally in union with Him is eternal life. Heaven and Hell are real places of eternal existence.
John 3:16, 14:17; Romans 6:23; Romans 8:17-18; Revelation 20:15; 1 Corinthians 2:7-9

A New Testament church is a local assembly of born-again, baptized believers united in organization to teach and practice New Testament doctrines and ordinances, to meet together for worship, prayer, fellowship, teaching and a united testimony, and to actively engage in carrying out the Great Commission.
Matthew 28:18-20; Acts 2:41-47; Ephesians 3:21; Hebrews 10:24-25

Biblical baptism is by the immersion of believers, thus portraying the burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ. The Lord’s Supper is the partaking of the bread and the cup by the members of the church as a continuing memorial of the broken body and shed blood of Christ.
Matthew 28:18-20; 1 Corinthians 5:1-13, 11:23-26
