The other day I was visiting a restaurant in Morgantown and had an opportunity to invite a young lady to our church. This was not an unusual act for me, because I usually invite people to worship with us at StoneBridge!
I smiled, made a little comment, she smiled back, and then, I left her with a StoneBridge invite card. I said, "I'd love to see you on Sunday." She said (like most people do), "Okay, I'll be there." I walked away from the conversation not giving much thought to whether or not she would attend or not attend, because the majority of the people that I invite (without a relationship with them) usually do not attend.
Little did I know, God was working in this young lady's life. The night before, she had prayed for God to guide her; and I was simply a tool in the Lord's hands to connect her with what God was already doing in her life. I am amazed at how many times I am blown away by God's wonderful and amazing blessings!
This past Sunday, SHE SHOWED UP! God truly blessed my heart with her attendance! I pray that our church will rally around her and show her the genuine, authentic love of Christ! It is moments like this that remind me of WHY I accepted God's invitation (almost twelve years ago) to join Him in planting a new church in Morgantown, West Virginia.
May we never lose the vision of reaching people who are unchurched or unsaved in this city. There is so much more work to do here!
I am excited about all that God is doing in 2014! I'm looking forward to impacting lives with the authentic love of Christ! Please remember that our obedience to God will help others in their relationship with Christ.
Keep On Serving!
